Febuary 2006 News
Our last meeting included the following information: Birthdays were Nancy R. and MaKenna. Our new members are Adriana. Therapeutic Riding will be in mid March around 10AM. The training will be about 3 weeks long and then we need 4-Hers to lead horses around. Leaders will work about 1 hour. It will be at 135th & Homestead near Kill Creek Rd. See Michelle. Fundraising: 4-Hers will help serving dinners, drinks and cleanup at the Lenexa Masonic Lodge. This will earn our club money for fundraising instead of selling something. See Michelle. Overnighter: Lots of fun had by all. A reminder to be aware of the 4-H Code of Conduct when participating in any 4-H event. Panorama: Sandy & Michelle & Brandy will drive. Participants include - Clarissa, Julia, Alyssa, Challis, Lauren V., Lauren C., Jessica, Monica, Adriana, Parent Meeting: To set horse show dates for the season will be at Michelle's house on Feb. 28th at 7PM. Everyone grab your favorite fast food and you can eat at Michelle's. Directions: Address is 14413 W. 72nd St., Shawnee. Take I-435 to Midland Dr. exit (between Shawnee Mission Pkwy. & 87th St. exits). Go east on Midland Dr. Go past Lackman and turn left on Cottonwood. Turn left on 72nd St. and go all the way to the end. House is on the left. Danielle did a project talk about the Dog Training. You need to wear tennis shoes, bring a crate, sheet for over crate, choke chain, no more than a 6 ft. leash. If you want a training manual they are $4 each. See Brenda or Danielle. Donations for Butch and his buddies: magazines and letters with pictures. Even if you don't have a picture, they would love to get a letter from you. Please bring a letter to the next meeting. See Joyce. Thanks to Brenda for bringing in pictures for the historians. Dance teams keep practicing and good luck at regionals. At Club Days, both teams received Top Purple. Way to go Shawna and teams!! Thanks to all the hard work from Shawna, the teams and their parents. Driving Clinic: Learn to drive a horse behind a buggy at Fox Eye Ranch. 2 Hours of fun with 2 trainers and lots of fun horses. See Nancy. Caitlin Morrison Memorial: Construction is mostly complete for the memorial wash rack on the fairgrounds. The wash rack is 24'Long X 12'Deep. There are 2 ties inside and 2 ties outside. It's located at the NE corner of the horse barn. Great thanks go out to Richardson's for coordinating this effort.
