• Here's what happened at the last meeting (July): Alexis is a new member. Welcome, Alexis! Happy Birthday to Garrett! See Jake for reimbursement forms. Be sure to have your receipt and an explanation of what your purchase was used/needed for, along with your name of who to make the check out to. Historians are asking for pics of the Clinic, Sr. District, and the upcoming Fair. See Lauren V. or Monica to hand them over. Be sure to put the activity/event and names of those pictured along with a date on the back. Thanks Brenda for the pics you handed in! Be sure to sign up for your time to work the concession stand during County Fair. Our club is responsible for working the main concessions stand from 6:30-10:30 on Thursday night, Aug. 10th and the Arena Stand Aug 12th 5:30-Close. See Michelle if you didn't sign up. We need parents and all 4-Hers. Wes volunteered to work the Olathe Trailriders arena for us....by hand. Sandy will call Mike Cale to ask him to work the arena for us. Be sure to call on Sat. evening before the show to find the status of the show. The show is cancelled due to heat! July 29th our club is signed up to do arena cleanup for the Fair/Fair Board. We are expected to be there for 2 hours beginning at 8am. Historians, please bring your cameras. We'll have lots of fun! Michelle has a call in to Al Davis as the American Royal website has conflicting dates for the Youth Horse Show...Sept 23 & 24 OR Oct 9. The Jr. District Clinic was a success, but the show had to be cancelled due to lack of participation. It was suggested that the flyer/enrollment form put in writing that it is not required to have level testing completed for this event. Challis and her mom are in charge of the stall decorations for fair this year. Be sure to let her know if you're planning to stall your horse at fair...county or state. There will be a stall decorating party at the fairgrounds on Sunday evening, Aug 6th at 5pm. Please bring twine, wire, duct tape, etc. Be there or be square! The club voted to have an Aug meeting as fair comes a little later this year. Our Aug meeting will be at the regular spot in Olathe at 7pm on Aug 2nd. The club voted to approve a $100 donation towards a farewell gift for Al Davis as he is taking a job with the American Royal and leaving us. If you have any pics of Al with you or anyone else please give them to Danielle, Clarissa, Alyssa, or Wes. In September our club will hold elections for offices that will lead us into the 2006/2007 4-H year. Please start thinking about the way you would like to help lead our club into another successful year. At the Aug. meeting we will answer any questions you may have regarding offices you're interested in. For your information: You must be 12 or older (in 4-H years) to be president, vice-president, treasurer, secretary or council representatives (2). You can be any age to be historian, reporter, parliamentarian, sargeant at arms or recreation leader. We need lots of interest, so feel free to email or contact the people who currently hold these offices to see what it's like. Alyssa - President Amy - vice-pres. Drill Team will be practicing July 17, 24, 31, Aug 3 at the fairgrounds at 6:30. See Sandy C. for information.
